Community Servings is a not-for-profit food and nutrition program in Jamaica Plain providing services throughout Massachusetts and in Rhode Island to individuals and families living with critical and chronic illnesses. They give their clients, their dependent family members and caregivers appealing, nutritious meals, and send the message to those in greatest need that someone cares.
BWFH staff are invited to volunteer at one of the staff nights coordinated monthly at Community Servings. Staff will prepare meals for critically ill individuals and their families. Volunteers are needed for a three hour shift of peeling, chopping and packaging meals for Community Servings’ clients. Volunteers must be 13 years or older and register in advance. Individuals or groups welcome!

ETHOS Volunteers have been a critical component of Ethos’ mission to keep elders living at home with dignity and independence. Each year, over 500 community volunteers contribute over one million dollars’ worth of service with Ethos, visiting elders in their homes, helping with grocery shopping, serving lunch at community cafes, helping with monthly financial management, and so much more!
