Nutrition Clinic

at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital

Community Nutrition Outreach

Nutrition plays a critical role in the prevention and treatment of many chronic conditions including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity and certain cancers. Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital is committed to improving the health outcomes of our surrounding communities through our nutrition services.

Allie Lang, RDN, LDN, Outpatient and Community Liaison Dietitian, works with local organizations such as YMCAs, schools, public libraries, supermarkets and community physician offices to reach high-risk groups who most need nutrition education but may lack access to a registered dietitian. Allie provides nutrition education in a fun and welcoming format to people of all ages. Her services are free of charge and help to improve the nutrition health literacy of our entire community. Examples are:

  • Wellness lectures
  • Supermarket tours
  • Nutrition information tables at doctors’ offices
  • Health fair demos
  • Healthy recipe tastings

In addition to these events, Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital has established a partnership with the Fresh Truck, a non-profit mobile fruit and vegetable market committed to increasing access to affordable, healthy food. Every week in Hyde Park, you will find Allie on the truck providing free samples of healthy recipes, tips on how to prepare and cook produce and general nutrition advice.

For more information about these events or to request a presentation at your facility, please contact Allie Lang at 617-983-4455 or
