Treatment and Surgical Options for Breast Conditions
Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Breast Center's clinical team is dedicated to caring for women. Our team provides complete breast surgery care for women and men who have breast concerns or conditions, ranging from benign tumors to breast cancer.
If you are diagnosed with breast cancer, our internationally renowned breast surgeons provide the highest level of expertise as the surgical oncologists for the Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center, a unique alliance between BWH, one of the country’s leading teaching hospitals, and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, one of the country’s premiere cancer centers. Your surgeon is an integral part of a team that includes medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, breast imaging specialists, breast pathologists, plastic/reconstructive surgeons, genetic counselors and social workers. He or she will be by your side throughout your breast cancer journey—providing surgical care personalized for your specific condition, including advanced options such as sentinel lymph node biopsy, radioactive seed localization and nipple-sparing mastectomy.
You will meet with your entire team at same-day, multidisciplinary visits for your initial consultation as well as during treatment. This makes appointment scheduling easier for you and enables immediate and interactive discussion between you and your caregivers. We also offer access to the latest clinical trials, and connect patients with an array of support and rehabilitation services so they can successfully complete their treatment course.
If you have concerns about your risk for developing breast cancer, our Breast Cancer Personalized Risk Assessment, Education and Prevention (B-PREP) Program offers an in-depth risk survey along with screening, genetic counseling and education about prevention strategies and risk-reducing surgery.
