As of April 30, 2019, the Faulkner Breast Center will close, and all clinic activities will move to the Longwood Medical Area campus in Boston. To ensure a seamless transition for our patients, we will continue to partner with our medical oncology colleagues at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for the care of our cancer patients; while our patients with benign breast issues or those who need surgery but do not have cancer, will be cared for by members of our team at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital’s Comprehensive Breast Health Center.
A patient’s care team will not change; just the location of some appointments. Most surgical cases will still be performed at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital and patients may continue to use the breast imaging services at Faulkner Hospital’s Sagoff Center.
Should you have questions about your care, please contact your physician office directly.

For patients diagnosed with breast cancer, our breast surgeons provide the highest level of expertise as the surgical oncologists for the Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center, a unique alliance between BWH, one of the country’s leading teaching hospitals, and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, one of the country’s premier cancer centers. Your surgeon is an integral part of a team that includes medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, breast imaging specialists, breast pathologists, plastic/reconstructive surgeons, genetic counselors and social workers. He or she will be by your side throughout your breast cancer journey—providing surgical care personalized for your specific condition, including advanced options such as participation in clinical trials focused on tailoring local treatments to the individual patient, radioactive seed localization and nipple-sparing mastectomy.
You will meet with your multidisciplinary team at same-day visits for your initial consultation as well as during treatment. This makes appointment scheduling easier for you and enables immediate and interactive discussions between you and your caregivers. We also connect patients with an array of support and rehabilitation services so they can successfully complete their treatment course.
If you have concerns about your risk for developing breast cancer, our Breast cancer Personalized Risk assessment, Education and Prevention (B-PREP) Program offers an in-depth risk survey which allows your team to provide you with tailored screening recommendations, genetic counseling if needed, and education about prevention and risk-reducing options including novel clinical trials focused on lifestyle changes.
Offering comprehensive medical, surgical and psychiatric care as well as complete emergency, ambulatory and diagnostic services to residents of southwest Boston and the surrounding suburbs.
