Travel nurses receive I CARE Awards

Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s I CARE Award recognizes staff members from all areas of the hospital who go above and beyond their regular job responsibilities to make BWFH a great place to work and receive care. Travel nurses Mwelwa Mapoma, who is assigned to 6 North, and Hamed Keita, who is assigned to the Float Pool, were recent recipients of I CARE Awards.

The duo was nominated for their I CARE Awards by 6 North Nurse Director Suzelle Saint-Eloi, MS, RN. In her nomination letter, Saint-Eloi wrote:

There is no doubt that patients at BWFH receive top-notch care! The care provided to an acute patient by Mwelwa and Hamed deserves recognition and accolades. Collectively, they recognized early warning signals that a patient was quickly deteriorating and activated the appropriate supports and resources to ensure the patient was transferred to the appropriate level of care. Their collaboration and shift-to-shift strong hand-off communication positively impacted the outcome for the patient. Additionally, their astute and strong practice deserves recognition and a “Thank You” for making a difference and exemplifying the BWFH I CARE standards.

Do you know a BWFH employee who has gone above and beyond to demonstrate BWFH’s I CARE Standards? To nominate a fellow colleague for an I CARE Award, please visit BWFHconnect. A team of colleagues will personally recognize the employee by presenting them with balloons, a thank you card and a gift certificate redeemable in the cafeteria or Atrium Café.
