Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s I CARE Award recognizes staff members from all areas of the hospital who go above and beyond their regular job responsibilities to make BWFH a great place to work and receive care. Robert Jason Yong, MD, MBA, who works in both the Pain Management Center and Anesthesiology, was a recent recipient of an I CARE Award.

Dr. Yong was nominated for his I CARE Award by Respiratory Therapist Maria Fridman and Nursing Professional Development Manager for Interventional Radiology/Interventional Nephrology, ICU and Dialysis Patricia Rabbett, MSN, RN, CCRN-K. In their nomination letter, Fridman and Rabbett wrote:

Recently, a patient suffered a cardiac arrest on arrival to the ICU. A Code Blue was called, and rescue efforts were in progress. An overhead page for “anesthesia stat to ICU” was announced. Dr Jason Yong, working as a provider in the Pain Management Center, responded to the overhead page and asked if he could help. Upon learning that he could assist this patient, he entered the patient’s room with the proper equipment. His calm and confident demeanor and actions were an exemplary display of going the “extra mile” and truly demonstrated patient focused care. Many thanks, Dr Yong!
