Open Enrollment is coming! Things to consider for 2020

This year’s Open Enrollment period will run October 28 to November 13, 2019. Since it is just around the corner, here is what you need to know to make the most of your 2020 benefits.

Improved Experience

All Open Enrollment information can be found on the new-and-improved www.AskMyHRportal.com/OE2020, a key resource for you as you review, choose and enroll in your 2020 benefits. Here you can find detailed information about your Partners HealthCare benefit offerings, including health plans, dental and vision coverage, life and disability insurance.

Partners Human Resources is making a conscious choice to reduce the amount of paper we use in our benefit materials, so we’ve enhanced the Ask myHR experience to provide you with all the electronic information you need to make the most of your benefits for 2020, including:

  • Step-by-step enrollment instructions.
  • Videos, rate sheets, enrollment guides and medical plan comparison charts.
  • Schedule of informational events at your location.

New PeopleSoft Enrollment Page

Additionally, you will notice your PeopleSoft myBenefits page has a new look for this year’s Open Enrollment. The fresh design makes it easier than ever to ensure you select the coverage you need for 2020. See Ask myHR for more information.

When selecting your benefits for 2020, consider:

Which Medical Plan is Right for You?

In 2020, you will continue to have a choice between Partners Select and Partners Plus, administered by AllWays Health Partners. If your medical and behavioral health providers are mainly Tier 1 providers, or if you live outside the Greater Boston area, Partners Select may be the best plan for you.

If your family needs the flexibility of having access to Tier 2 or out-of-network providers, Partners Plus may be the right plan for you. To decide which plan will best meet you and your family’s needs, please refer to the Partners Plus vs. Partners Select comparison page.

New Medical ID Cards for 2020

If you are enrolled in an employee health plan through AllWays Health Partners for 2020, you will receive a replacement ID card in December. The new card will provide additional information about Aetna Signature Administrators, which extends your AllWays Health Partners network outside of Massachusetts. This additional information will help ensure your claims are processed in a timely manner.

Don’t forget – your AllWays Health Partners ID card also contains information about your CVS/Caremark prescription drug coverage.

Life Insurance

If you have family members who depend on you financially, consider enrolling in supplemental life and/or accidental death and dismemberment (also referred to as “AD&D”) insurance through MetLife. You can enroll in coverage for yourself, your spouse and your children.

How much can a Flexible Spending Account save you?

These accounts can save you hundreds of dollars each year, but you must re-enroll during every Open Enrollment period. Please visit the Flexible Spending Account home page on Ask myHR for more information.

Are your beneficiaries up to date?

Open Enrollment is a great time to ensure that your beneficiary information is up to do date for your life insurance, retirement and Tax-Sheltered Annuity Plans.

Confirm your other coverages for 2020

Are your dental, vision, disability and retirement plans at the coverage levels you need? While these plans are not changing, now is a good time to check whether your current coverage aligns with the care you expect to need for yourself or your family in 2020.

For more information, please refer to the Open Enrollment Page on Ask myHR. If you don't find the answer to your question please submit a request or call the HR Support Center at 1-833-Ask-MyHR (1-833-275-6947).
