Recently, Jessica Rosado, LMHC, MaCCS, Utilization Manager for the Department of Psychiatry, was invited to share BWFH’s approach to one of the key metrics on which facilities are rated—seven-day follow-up attendance after hospitalization—at a first of its kind virtual Clinical Excellence Collaborative Learning Session.

Mass General Brigham launches United Against Racism educational course

Mass General Brigham launches United Against Racism educational course

Over the past year, Mass General Brigham has made an unprecedented commitment to creating greater levels of racial equity within our healthcare system through our United Against Racism strategy. Education is a key part of our multifaceted initiative to ensure greater racial equity.

We are launching Mass General Brigham’s first system-wide anti-racism educational program, titled Stepping Stones. Stepping Stones are four short videos that help viewers understand how racism exists and functions in our society—and how they can combat it. Based on the work of Dr. Camara Jones, each short and engaging video is constructed as an allegory: a short story with a deeper meaning, and each build on the concepts of the one before it. As Dr. Jones narrates each story, they are accompanied by colorful and immersive graphic illustrations. Two of the four allegories are available now and the other two will be available this fall. Stepping Stones provides a common starting point and framework for how Mass General Brigham can be United Against Racism, as the fight against racism takes collective action.

Stepping Stones is accessible via HealthStream.

COVID-19 Updates

Updated Visitor Policy now in effect

Mass General Brigham continues to affirm the importance of visitors to the health and well-being of our patients. The Visitor Policy has been updated to

  • permit up to two visitors or Support Persons at a time for a total of two per day to inpatients; including for patients on Enhanced Respiratory Isolation (ERI)
  • permit up to two visitors per employee-host to research and other non-clinical areas; with clarification of approval requirements if visiting in a clinical location is planned

Read the full policy, which includes a link to an instructional video for correct use of PPE by visitors to patients on ERI. Under extraordinary circumstances, facilities may need to restrict visitation.

As a reminder, the Universal Mask Policy applies to all on our campuses, regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status. Please wear only the facemask we provide and ensure it covers your nose and mouth. Screening of visitors and patients for symptoms of COVID-19 continues; all are encouraged to utilize Mass General Brigham Pre Screen Pass.

FAQs related to many of the COVID-19 policies can be found here

Reminder: Our safe care commitment

The health and safety of our patients, their families and our staff is our top priority—and we all play a role. You can do your part by remembering to
