Fleece Friday: Share Your Photos - Friday, May 7

Wear your Brigham Health fleece on “Fleece Friday” on Friday, May 7. Whether working on-site or from home, send photos of you and your team sporting your new fleeces to bwfhinfo@partners.org on May 7. Photos will be featured on our digital signage, BWFHconnect and social media accounts throughout the day. Please note, staff should be wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following physical distancing guidelines in all photos. Please be mindful of private information that can inadvertently be captured in the background of your photos. Please do not take photos of patients. These fleeces were given with gratitude from our donors to express their deep pride in the Brigham Health community and recognize all the ways you go above and beyond for our patients — during the COVID-19 crisis and every day.

Remembrance Wall Interactive Display

To honor the lives saved and remember the lives lost due to COVID-19, Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital recently unveiled our Hearts of Remembrance display. Located in the third floor corridor on the wall opposite the cafeteria seating area, this exhibit features a mosaic of blue and yellow hearts—each one symbolizing a life saved or lost at BWFH due to COVID-19, with one special red heart to remember our colleague Marie Deus.

The display also contains an interactive component for staff to add their own message or remembrance by picking up a white heart and writing a short message in memory or in honor of someone affected by COVID-19, or a personal message, and post it on the display.

White hearts and pens to use, along with hand sanitizer, are available right outside the cafeteria for anyone wishing to participate.

COVID-19 Updates

“This, Not This” Campaign Encourages Employees To Get Vaccinated

Thank you to our Mass General Brigham employees who are continuing to get vaccinated. We’ve jumped from 73% of employees vaccinated in early March to 82%, but we can do better for our patients, our colleagues and communities. The vaccines are safe, and they protect you, your family and friends. With our “This, Not This” campaign, we are encouraging all employees to get vaccinated so we can all be safe for the summer!

This Not That

How employees can get vaccinated

Employees can be vaccinated at any of our vaccination sites using COVID Pass. For employees unable to use COVID Pass seeking dose 1 (initial vaccination appointments), please call the COVID Call Center to schedule an appointment: 781-960-1567. Employees may take time during their workday to get vaccinated and should coordinate with their manager. New Hampshire employees wishing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine should email Rebecca.Wittman@wdhospital.org and include name, date of birth and preferred phone number.

Patient vaccine update

Mass General Brigham is offering COVID-19 vaccine appointments to patients who are eligible under the current phase of the state’s vaccine distribution plan. We continue to invite patients to schedule their COVID-19 vaccination appointments as additional vaccine becomes available. While everyone 16 and over is currently eligible, we continue to prioritize patients by age and risk of serious illness as well as those who live in high prevalence areas that have been disproportionately affected by COVID-19. Mass General Brigham receives a limited number of vaccines each week and will continue to focus on getting the vaccines to our most vulnerable patients.

Last Week in Patient Safety

Recently, a safety report was submitted regarding a fall on the grounds. Bystander staff assisted the fallen individual into a private vehicle for transport to the Emergency Department. Read the complete edition of Last Week In Patient Safety (intranet).
