Pam Park, FNP-C, recently accepted the role of Perioperative Flow/Operations Manager at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner. Park has been a Nurse Practitioner in the Weiner Center for Preoperative Evaluation since 2016 where she has earned a reputation as a calm, capable and adaptable colleague and leader.
John Fromson, MD, who serves as Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s Chief of Psychiatry and Vice Chair for Community Psychiatry at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, was recently presented with BWH’s Department of Psychiatry 2021 Department Award for Outstanding Community Services Award.
The award, which is given to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding service to the wider community or specific population or program development was presented to Dr. Fromson in recognition of his ongoing work with the Brigham and Women’s Outreach Program with Indian Health Service.
“This award recognizes the privilege of bringing the knowledge, skill and support that has been instilled to me by BWH/BWFH psychiatric and administrative colleagues to Navajo Nation,” says Dr. Fromson of the honor. “I hope that sharing my experiences will generate enhanced awareness of the oppression and elimination tactics perpetuated against Native Americans.”

Maritza Velez recently joined Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital as our new Patient/Family Relations Specialist. If you have a question or concern about general infection prevention, patient precaution status, information on donning and doffing PPE, etc., page 61695. Non-exempt employees who are not compliant with the mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination Policy and have not consented to allow Occupational Health access to their Epic vaccination records will be asked to provide consent at the Kronos time clocks. If an employee is already compliant with the COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, there will be no changes to the content or sequence of punch-in questions and prompts.
If you received your first dose of COVID-19 vaccine at one of our mobile vaccine clinics, be sure to return for your second dose. The COVID-19 vaccine mobile clinic will be parked outside the third floor entrance at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital to administer second doses on Friday, October 15, from 8 am to 12 noon for those who received their first dose on Friday, September 24.
Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s Community Health and Wellness Department is seeking volunteers to help prepare meals for critically ill individuals and their families in our community. Join us on Wednesday, October 20, from 4 to 7 pm at Community Servings (179 Amory Street in Jamaica Plain) to peel, chop and package meals for Community Servings’ clients. Volunteers must be 13 years or older, vaccinated against COVID-19 (please have proof of vaccination when you arrive) and register in advance.
