New Operations Manager joins EVS staff

Image of Ramon Garcia

Ramon Garcia recently started at BWFH as the Environmental Services Operations Manager. He previously worked at Tufts Medical Center as an operations manager. Garcia has a long history of working in operations and environmental services (EVS), starting in Brigham and Women’s Hospital’s EVS department when he was 17 years old. He has worked in this field at a variety of greater Boston organizations throughout his career.

Garcia shows his dedication for his job through his actions. He has completed various continuing education courses relating to OSHA or EVS topics. He also completed a medical interpreter terminology course through Boston Medical Center after noticing many of his EVS employees are Spanish speakers. He cares deeply about his staff and sometimes will stay late into the night to check on third shift employees. “More than anything, my job is making sure my employees are happy and doing their job,” he said. “And making sure the day to day goes smoothly for everybody, especially patients.”

Garcia’s favorite part of coming to work is the busy environment, as well as helping and being around his staff. “They spend eight hours here, sometimes more than they spend in their house, so you get to know them very well,” he said.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his three daughters, especially during the holiday season.
