DFCI/BWH Blood Mobile visits BWH

Blood Mobile at BWFH

The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Brigham and Women’s Hospital Blood Mobile―the traveling extension of the Kraft Family Blood Donor Center―recently visited Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital giving employees and members of the community the opportunity to give blood to support patients undergoing cancer treatments, accident victims, transplant recipients and more.

At the event, coordinated by Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s Community Health and Wellness Assistant Katie Plante, 27 donors volunteered yielding 23 units of blood. Those who donated were treated to a Kraft Family Blood Donation Center portable charger as a thank you gift.

“The blood drive is a fantastic opportunity to witness how generous our employees are!” says Plante. “I know the Kraft Family Blood Donation Center is extremely grateful.”

If you missed your chance to donate blood this time, don’t worry. The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Brigham and Women’s Hospital Blood Mobile will return to BWFH on July 24!
