BWFH welcomes new Project Manager for Infection Control and Clinical Compliance

The Infection Control and Accreditation team at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital recently welcomed Danielle Nordquist, MPH, in the role of Project Manager for Infection Control and Clinical Compliance. She will report directly to Director of Infection Control, Clinical Compliance and Patient Safety Tricia Martin, MPH, and work closely with Infection Preventionist Brittany Herrick, BSN, RN.

Nordquist completed her undergraduate work at Quinnipiac University before beginning her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant in her native New Jersey. Three years later, she decided to move to Boston and took a job as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Boston Medical Center. Shortly thereafter, she took on a role at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as a Clinical Research Coordinator and began pursuing her MPH at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Upon completion of her MPH, Nordquist was hired by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health as an Epidemiologist.

“I quickly realized that working a desk job was not for me,” says Nordquist of her decision to join BWFH’s Infection Control and Accreditation team. “I thrive in a hospital setting. When I’m here I feel like I am home.”

So far, Nordquist is thrilled with her decision to change paths. She has been getting to know her co-workers and the hospital units, conducting hand hygiene audits, assisting Herrick with her investigations and attending lots of meetings. “I can’t wait to get up to speed,” she says. “I love to work and I really want to inspire positive change in the hospital.”

When she is not at work, Nordquist enjoys practicing yoga, spending time with friends and being around her dog Otis. “He was a quarantine dog, so I do feel like we are a little co-dependent,” she jokes.
