BWFH welcomes new Performance Improvement Consultant

Cate Raftery recently joined Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital as Performance Improvement Consultant. In this role, she will work to support BWFH’s strategic goals through facilitation of major projects and the use of performance improvement methodologies.

Raftery, who earned her bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management at the University of Rhode Island and her MBA from Norwich University, comes to BWFH from Hanscom Air Force Base where she served as Logistics Manager for a variety of projects over her four-year stay there.

Of her decision to make the switch to healthcare, Raftery says, “I am someone who is always looking for the most efficient or quickest way possible to accomplish tasks in my personal life. I find myself constantly looking for new ways to improve daily tasks. This role is one that enables me to do that and assist in providing better quality care for patients. It feels like a perfect fit for my personality and career aspirations.”

So far, she is pleased with her decision to join the Performance Improvement team at BWFH and is looking forward to getting to know the various departments within the hospital, how they function and how she can help make positive change. “I am looking forward to seeing the projects we work on come to fruition and eventually be sustained,” she says. “I am excited to be able to see patients positively impacted by our work, even the smallest improvement could really enhance the patient experience.”

Outside of work, Raftery enjoys cooking and reading. In summer, you can find her reading on the beach. She also loves to travel with her favorite destination thus far being Iceland.
