Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s I CARE Award recognizes staff members from all areas of the hospital who go above and beyond their regular job responsibilities to make BWFH a great place to work and receive care. 7 South nurse Kaitlyn Trundle was a recent recipient of an I CARE Award.

Trundle was nominated for her I CARE Award by Brendan Striano, MD. In his nomination letter, Dr. Striano wrote:

I was caring for a patient on 6 South and was running up against some frustrating roadblocks with acquiring the right items for the care of this sick patient. Despite varied attempts, I was unable to secure the cervical collar and adaptive call button for the patient in question. I expressed to Kaitlyn that I was having issues getting the equipment that this patient needed. Without hesitation, Kaitlyn prioritized the needs of this patient (not her patient, not even her floor) to help ensure that this woman had the necessary safety equipment. It is no surprise that Kaitlyn would go above and beyond for a patient—I have seen her do this time after time for our mutual patients, but this instance of seeing her go out of her way for a patient on a different floor struck me as truly noteworthy and deserving of praise.

Do you know a BWFH employee who has gone above and beyond to demonstrate BWFH’s I CARE Standards? To nominate a fellow colleague for an I CARE Award, please visit BWFH - Vitals (employee intranet). A team of colleagues will personally recognize the employee by presenting them with balloons, a thank you card and a gift certificate redeemable in the cafeteria or Atrium Café.
