Human Resources Department welcomes new HR Specialist

Courtney Dickson

Courtney Dickson recently joined the Human Resources Department at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital as HR Specialist. Dickson, who earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology at UMass Boston with a minor in communications, has most recently been with the BWPO where she worked for almost five years as Senior Provider Enrollment Specialist.

In her new role, Dickson will be responsible for hiring staff in Food and Nutrition, Housekeeping, Security and more. She also says, “I will be the face of leave of absences. Employees can come to me regarding FMLA, maternity leave, disability and more.”

Dickson says she always wanted to work in HR and jumped at the chance when this position became available. “It’s hard to get a job these days. To give someone an opportunity is exciting to me. This could be something that changes their life,” she says.

In the first few weeks on the job, Dickson has been busy learning the ropes and getting to know her co-workers. She says she enjoys the hustle and bustle of BWFH’s busy HR Department. “People are always coming in and out,” she says.

Married in September, Dickson keeps busy outside of work as well. She and her husband are currently renovating their home in Natick and caring for their three dogs. “I’m usually outside with them playing or walking them,” she says. She also enjoys kayaking and working out.
