John R. Graham Headache Center

The John R. Graham Headache Center and the Harvard Medical School have a long tradition of excellence in headache clinical care, research and education. Established in 1970 by Dr. John R. Graham, the John R. Graham Headache Center was the first headache clinic in Boston and for some time the largest in the United States. The John R. Graham Headache Center has received international recognition for clinical excellence, for pioneering new approaches to headache treatment and for research on women’s issues, as well as clinical trials for the treatment of headache disorders.

Mission Statement: To provide expert advice and care for patients with headache disorders through consultation and management, research, education and teaching.

The Graham Headache Center at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is named after John Ruskin Graham, who developed one of the first headache centers in the country. Headache medicine became a recognized specialty in 2009, and we now provide services at nine sites across the Mass General Brigham system.
