7 North PCA receives I CARE Award

7 North PCA Jinjin (Mia) Shen, a recent recipient of an I CARE Award

Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s I CARE Award recognizes staff members from all areas of the hospital who go above and beyond their regular job responsibilities to make BWFH a great place to work and receive care. 7 North PCA Jinjin (Mia) Shen was a recent recipient of an I CARE Award.

Shen was nominated for her I CARE Award by Juliet Gleason, MBA, MSN, RN, Nurse Director for 7 North and the Float Pool. In her nomination letter, Gleason wrote:

Mia is a newer PCA on 7 North. She is always positive and ready to help her peers. We have one patient on the unit that has been challenging. Mia has stepped up and goes above and beyond to meet his needs. He has been at the hospital for an extended period of time. She noticed that his hair was getting very long and going into his face. Mia trimmed his hair so he could see better. She often goes above and beyond. We are very glad that she has joined our team!

Do you know a BWFH employee who has gone above and beyond to demonstrate BWFH’s I CARE Standards? To nominate a fellow colleague for an I CARE Award, please visit BWFH - Vitals (intranet). A team of colleagues will personally recognize the employee by presenting them with balloons, a thank you card and a gift certificate redeemable in the cafeteria or Atrium Café.
