Nancy Oliveira is a certified diabetes educator with nutrition counseling expertise in diabetes, oncology, gastrointestinal disorders, weight loss and gain and vegan nutrition. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Rhode Island and a Master of Science in Nutrition Communications from Tufts University, and completed a one-year nutrition internship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She frequently lectures on nutrition science, mindfulness-based weight management and nutrition messaging in the media. She previously worked in the publishing industry as a medical writer and editor, and is currently a staff writer at The Nutrition Source at Harvard University. Additionally, she is a certified exercise instructor, teaching weekly classes in Boston, motivating people of all fitness levels to move. Her mission is to empower patients with the tools, knowledge and self-confidence needed to live stronger and healthier lives. She is a member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators.
