Incontinence

Incontinence, the accidental loss of urine, affects over 15 million American men and women and may be both debilitating and embarrassing, upsetting physical and emotional well-being. More common in women than men, bladder control problems can result from childbirth, pelvic surgeries, illness or age. Men with prostate conditions, neurological diseases or unhealthy lifestyle habits may also experience urinary incontinence.

At Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, we have experienced urologists who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of urinary incontinence. Our urology team understands how sensitive bladder control issues can be and offers a private setting to evaluate patients and tailor customized treatment plans. Advanced therapies include non-surgical methods such as pelvic floor rehabilitation and medication and surgical techniques including urethral injections and slings.

Our urology practice consists of board certified urologic surgeons and a supportive clinical and administrative staff who work as one cohesive team to provide the best possible care for each patient. In addition, patients have full access to Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a world-renowned academic medical center in Boston with a diverse multidisciplinary specialists and state-of-the-art facilities.
