Stroke Support Services

The Speech Language Pathology Department, together with the Social Work Department, runs a monthly stroke support group for caregivers and survivors of a stroke. The goal of the group is to allow caregivers and survivors to connect with others who can understand their struggles and triumphs. Common topics addressed, featuring guest speakers, include: dealing with depression and anxiety, coping strategies, nutrition and exercise.

A group of stroke survivors and their caregivers, including some from Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s Stroke Support Group, were treated to a weekend free from worry at a Retreat & Refresh Stroke Camp held at Warren Conference Center in Ashland, MA. Stroke Camp will resume after the COVID-19 pandemic has subsided.
