Physical Examinations

A physical examination is usually performed for new patients, and many adult patients have physical examinations after that every year or so. This may include examinations which are appropriate for your gender and age, such as pelvic exams, pap smears, breast exams, rectal and prostate exams, etc. Also, if blood tests or other procedures such as urine analysis, EKGs, etc. are necessary they can be done within this facility, most on a same day basis. Other tests may be recommended for some people after physical examinations, such as mammograms, echocardiogram, treadmill tests, etc. An appointment will be made for you at the hospital for these.

Please note

Sometimes, your annual Preventive Health Exam, Medicare Annual Wellness Visit, or Welcome to Medicare Visit can turn into a “Sick Visit." During your visit, your provider may need to treat a new medical issue or a chronic problem that has changed. If that occurs, this part of the visit is called a Sick Visit and may result in additional services being billed to your insurance.

In addition, coverage for certain screening tests (such as cancer and cardiovascular disease screening) and immunizations performed at your Annual Physical depends on your age and health insurance plan. Some tests and immunizations may not be covered at 100% and some may not be covered at all. In those cases you may be responsible for a co-insurance or deductible payment.

School, Camp, Sports or Health Club Physical Examinations

Please see the physical examinations section above. As always, it is a good idea to call to schedule these examinations at least a month before they are required.
