Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital recognizes the important role that family members and visitors play in promoting the well being of patients. Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital does not restrict, limit, or otherwise deny visitation privileges on the basis of race, color, national origin, citizenship, alienage, religion, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age or disability. Please speak with your nurse about respectful visiting hours that will allow us to continue delivering high quality, safe care while allowing patients to interact with loved ones.
Visitation Policy
Patients and visitors are strongly encouraged to pre-screen through the Mass General Brigham Prescreen Pass prior to their visit. If a patient or visitor reports symptoms of respiratory illness or if they’ve had a recent COVID-19 exposure, they are asked to let staff know immediately. Visitors are instructed to delay their visit until they are symptom free. To learn more about receiving care during COVID-19, click here.
Effective October 20, 2022
Inpatient Visitors
Two visitors or Support Persons at a time may visit inpatients from 11 am to 8 pm.
Those wishing to visit a patient on our 2 South Inpatient Psychiatry unit should call the 2 South desk at 617-983-7211 to speak to the patient’s case worker and schedule a visit.
Outpatient Visitors
A single visitor or support person is permitted in the Emergency Department and surgical or procedural areas.
While a single visitor or support person is preferred, two visitors or support persons may accompany patients to ambulatory locations such as a physician's office.
Please note that in some situations, we may need to limit visitors to ensure patient and staff safety.
We understand that emotional support is an important component of care, now more than ever, and encourage patients and loved ones to use technology to stay connected. Tablets are available on inpatient units for patient use.
If you would like to share feedback about your experience with us, please contact our Patient and Family Relations team by calling 617-983-4507 between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm, Monday through Friday, or email us at BWFHPFR@partners.org.
Visitor Behavior
Visitors are expected to help keep our hospital a safe place for all patients, visitors and staff by:
- wearing the provided mask in accordance with the Mass General Brigham Masking Policy while on premises
- frequently washing their hands or using the hand sanitizer available across the hospital campus
- Visitors are not permitted to wait inside the hospital prior to or after their visit.
- If you cannot find childcare and need to bring your child under the age of 18 years old with you, the child will need to join you in the exam room. Children must be supervised at all times.
Visitors who are unable to comply with the rules above may be asked to leave our facility. Find more details in the full Mass General Brigham Visitor Policy including requirements for visitors and support persons.
