Virtual Health Care Services for Employees

Mass General Brigham Virtual Urgent Care offers convenient, high-quality urgent care services for minor illnesses and injuries that are available anytime and anywhere in the United States. Patients (adults and children age 2 and older) can connect to Mass General Brigham providers through a secure, interactive video visit on their tablet, smart phone, or computer.

At this time, Mass General Brigham Virtual Urgent Care is only available to Mass General Brigham Health Plan members. Mass General Brigham Virtual Urgent Care is not for emergencies. If you have a medical emergency, call 911.

Employees who are interested in learning more about coverage for this service can access their Mass General Brigham Health Plan portal. Virtual Urgent Care can be accessed through Patient Gateway.

What types of conditions can be treated with Mass General Brigham On Demand?

Mass General Brigham Virtual Urgent Care offers members an interactive video alternative for urgent medical advice. Telemedicine visits are used to diagnose, treat and prescribe short term medications for common health issues such as sinus problems, bronchitis, cold and flu symptoms or ear infection.

Mass General Brigham On Demand is not for medical emergencies. For medical emergencies, call 911.

Who can use Mass General Brigham Virtual Urgent Care?

Mass General Brigham Employees and covered family members with Mass General Brigham Health Plan have access to Mass General Brigham Urgent Care. This service is available to adults and children over the age of two. Any child under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Where can I use Mass General Brigham Virtual Urgent Care from?

Members can use Mass General Brigham Virtual Urgent Care from anywhere within the US. This service is not available outside of the US.

How much does this service cost?

Virtual care visits are available to established Mass General Brigham patients (ages 3+) in Massachusetts. Your cost-sharing for these urgent care services will depend on your health plan type. If you have questions, please contact the Member Services Department of your health plan for specifics regarding your coverage.

Mass General Brigham will work with your health plan to bill for any amount owed after your visit. By participating in a virtual urgent care visit with Mass General Brigham, you agree to be financially responsible for payment for the services provided to you. If it is later determined that your insurance coverage changed or was not active on the day of your visit, or does not cover virtual urgent care services, you agree to be responsible for payment of the visit and you authorize Mass General Brigham to charge you the cost of the service.

Will I see a Mass General Brigham provider when using Mass General Brigham Virtual Urgent Care?

The Mass General Brigham Virtual Urgent Care service connects patients with qualified providers of the appropriate licensure from Mass General Brigham or Teladoc Physicians.

Provider Assignment is dependent upon the member’s location (state) at the time of the visit. Members utilizing the service while within the state of MA will receive care from a Mass General Brigham provider. Members utilizing the service while located outside of Massachusetts will receive care from a Teladoc Physicians doctor.

The provider on call at the time of the visit is shown on the site upon logging in.

How do I connect with an urgent care provider?

If you are an established Patient Gateway patient, log-in to your Patient Gateway account and look for "Virtual Urgent Care On-Demand" under the "Find Care" menu option.

If you are not a Patient Gateway patient, please create a Patient Gateway account.

Who do I contact if I need technical support?

Mass General Brigham Health Plan members should contact Teladoc at 855-225-1071 for technical support.
