Patient Testimonials

In their own words, our patients tell us how much you care

Letters from our Patients and their Families

Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,

The team used a “Time Out” before beginning the procedure. This is best practice, yet many organizations and teams fail to do this. A “Time Out” enhances patient safety. Bravo for following best practices.

Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,

All the nurses and doctors I encountered were great. It was the best possible experience I had for a surgery. They made me feel so comfortable and were very kind and respectful. I would recommend BWFH to my family and friends.

Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,

I'm glad my research led me to Mass General Brigham hospitals. I was very pleased and will be using your hospital for my future care if needed... Hopefully I won’t need it... Thank you all that cared for me in the past couple of weeks.

Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,

The receptionist that greeted me was very kind and helpful. The technician that did my mammogram was very nice and explained everything that she was going to do. Just getting a mammogram is very stressful but all of the employees that work there make you feel very comfortable, which is very much appreciated.

Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,

The nursing staff along with the PA who treated me on the morning of my visit were exceptional. They were knowledgeable and kind. I am extremely pleased with the care I received. I hope this message is relayed to them as I wish I could have thanked them again. It makes all the difference in the world when you are treated genuinely.

Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,

The technicians that did the MRI were amazing. They made me feel extremely comfortable and relaxed and the test went so quickly. I think they were absolutely amazing.

Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,

Big thank you to the tech, Brian. I honestly felt I was not going to make it the full night. Brian had such a positive attitude and friendly personality that made me feel like, “okay... I might be able to do this.” I did. Thank you to the team.

Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,

I am so thankful for the nurses that take care of me at the BWFH Infusion Center. They are caring, professional and supportive. I am blessed to have them by my side each month.

Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,

This was my first time to this facility and when I arrived I was somewhat apprehensive but this apprehension was quickly put to rest. I was impressed with the genuine courtesy and concern of everyone. Every step of the way the staff anticipated my arrival and was prepared for the part they played in the successful delivery of the procedure.

Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,

The nurses were excellent. Competent, very aware and professional with great personalities that caused me calm and confidence. My surgeon, Dr. Killelea, was beyond excellent! She achieved perfection in every level possible. She was very attentive, recalled every single word I said and each concern. The surgery was perfect! She is a Michelangelo. The results far beyond my greatest expectation. I was so lucky to have had her as my surgeon. And along with the great support professionals she has, it was an excellent experience.

Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,

Special thanks to Casey in CT. He was incredibly kind and attentive to my needs. His awesome sense of humor was a comfort. I can’t say enough about this wonderful caregiver.

Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,

I commented to my husband after my scan how truly pleasant and kind ALL the staff I encountered were. Thank you for clearly having a meaningful and solid hiring practice and training program in place. It’s so important to patients especially when they are scared and/or vulnerable.

Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,

I was elated after having my procedure. The efficiency of the staff along with the professionalism, kindness and a genuine concern that each and every nurse, doctor and staff member had in reference to my care was outstanding. I feel blessed to have had my procedure with Dr. Preneta and the anesthesiologists and nurses that assisted her during the process. I left the hospital feeling a deep sense of gratitude. I commend each staff member for their patience and quick response to each and every question or concern that I had regarding my medical issues and concerns about the procedures.

Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,

I hope that this email makes it to Darren Scully, RN, and to his manager. I just wanted to thank him for his help in understanding my father’s health situation. He took the time to help us when all the other nurses were too busy. I will forever be grateful for his kindness and expertise. He could see my sister and I standing in the hallway asking any and all nurses to help understand what was going on upon his admission. Although my father was not his patient, he still stopped to help us. Through my father’s decline, Darren’s kindness and professionalism were the best experience we had throughout the many stays. I hope that he is told of how much his actions meant to us and how thankful we are. He is an exceptional person and nurse.

Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,

My technician, Dani, was fabulous. She was very informative, she educated me while I was there, she understood my concerns and was just very personable. It’s so nice to have somebody in the medical field who really cares about the patient. So I thank her and I thank you for her absolute great training. If need be, I look forward to possibly having her again next year.

Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,

My emergency department doctor was very kind and supportive. You can really tell that she loves doing her job, and she cares about people and patients. She was very thorough, took her time, spoke with me. I’ve never had such an experience with an emergency room doctor like that before. And I just want to say what a wonderful job she did, listening, asking questions and she’s just incredibly kind, courteous and caring. Kudos for that. Thank you so much.

Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,

The entire experience was precisely the reason that I leave Rhode Island and come to Boston for treatment. The circumstances are always highly professional. The medical care professionals are extraordinary, from surgeon to anesthesiologist to nurses to people who even greet you in the parking area. It’s extraordinarily well managed and the care is something you can depend upon. It’s difficult when you have reached a point where you have a number of medical issues that you’re dealing with regularly and the kindness and concern that people show you makes all of that a lot easier to handle. And also in that way ensures that you have a far better chance at recovery.

Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,

Marguerite, the Sleep Center nurse who took care of me, was exceptionally kind, patient, thoughtful and attentive. It is a strange experience to spend the night in a hospital room, covered with electrodes and monitors, and she made sure I was as comfortable as possible.

Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,

My physical therapist, Emily, is the perfect combination of courtesy, kindness, active listener and professional. I’m most fortunate, I believe, to have found her and to be working with her, and I’m grateful that she is willing to work with me. I believe because of Emily’s positive attitude and careful treatment of me, along with what I am going to be working on and what I am working with on my own, that I will indeed get better. She is an exemplar of the kind of physical therapy person and employee in any department that BWFH should have. She’s simply wonderful. Thank you.

Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,

I have not had many operations in my life, but by far this is the best experience of them all. From check-in to discharge I was treated with courtesy, respect and compassion that was never affected, but genuine and heartfelt. Staff at large hospitals will see thousands and thousands of patients in their careers and understandably forget most of them. We patients fortunate and healthy enough to have limited experience in hospital settings, however, will never forget those who cared so kindly for us in our time of need. Medicine heals our bodies. Your staff provides something that heals us far more deeply and lasting. Thank you for that.

Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,

Every single person with whom I had contact was courteous, friendly and professional. From the nurses to the doctors to the secretaries, to the person who put my shoes on so I could go home, they were all fantastic. The staff made a stressful time way less stressful. A big thank you to everyone who had anything to do with my care that day. You are each worth your weight in gold.

Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,

Barbara Jackson is an amazing OT. She treats me with respect and we work as a team. She is a great listener and excellent supporter. I would recommend her to anyone needing OT especially after breast cancer surgery.

Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,

Nurses Kerri and Kristina were wonderful and understanding. Very knowledgeable and patient. Patty was also very kind and patient. I felt confident in my care with all as they were very knowledgeable. They were all very understanding and hands on at all times. Day and night. They took time in explaining anything that was being done and adjustments that had to be made in my daily care. Theresha (PCA) was extremely sweet, nurturing and considerate. She was awesome always. I had two health issues and they were very compassionate and gently always. Quite a perfect representation of what good care is and what is demonstrated at BWFH. Thank you for employing such a professional staff.

Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,

My pre-op nurse, Dan, was very courteous and professional. He made me feel comfortable and answered all of my questions. The OR nurse, Chris, and the anesthesiologist were professional and helped me feel relaxed by explaining clearly what to expect during pre-op. The staff in the PACU were caring and attentive to all my needs. Molly, Carrie and the nurse assigned to me were very patient and treated me with respect. For my first experience with surgery, I felt that I was in excellent hands throughout and would not hesitate to recommend this facility to others. The staff in the unit were awesome!

Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,

It will be hard to single out any one person to praise for their care and services. The nursing staff was outstanding. Their kindness and compassion was very much appreciated by myself and my son. The care that I received was extraordinary. I cannot thank you enough.
