Trinh named Section Chief of Urology

Quoc-Dien Trinh, MD, MBA, has been named Section Chief of Urology at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, effective Tuesday, November 1.

Since joining the BWFH community as an Associate Surgeon in 2013, Dr. Trinh has emerged as a leader in his field. He serves as Director of Ambulatory Clinical Operations for Brigham and Women’s Division of Urological Surgery, Associate Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School and Co-Director of the Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Prostate Cancer Center. In 2021, he was the recipient of the Outstanding Citizenship Award at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and, in 2022, he was named the Young Urologist of the Year by the American Urological Association.

Dr. Trinh received his medical degree from the Université de Montréal in Montreal, Canada, where he also completed his residency training in urology. He later completed a fellowship in minimally invasive urologic oncology at the Vattikuti Urology Institute in Detroit, Michigan. Most recently, he completed an Executive MBA at Hautes Études Commerciales in Paris, France. His research focuses primarily on inequity and outcomes of cancer care. He co-founded the Mass General Brigham Prostate Cancer Outreach Clinic, a United Against Racism initiative. In fact, his work related to Mass General Brigham’s United Against Racism campaign was recently featured by STAT news. Here at BWFH, he is active member of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council.

“I am honored to serve our patients, their families and our colleagues as Section Chief of Urology,” he says. “Since joining the Brigham in 2013, Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital has been where I have spent most of my time taking care of patients. I love working here and hope to live up to the high standards and expectations of this amazing hospital. A priority of mine will be to continue our outreach and engagement initiatives within and outside of the hospital.”

Outside of work, Dr. Trinh enjoys photography, traveling with his wife (also a physician at BWH and BWFH) and three daughters, as well as playing video games.
