Senior Data Analyst hired at BWFH

Brian Doucet

Brian Doucet has been hired as Senior Data Analyst at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital. In this newly created role, he will support the data analytics needs of everyone at BWFH from Senior Leadership to front-end users.

Doucet is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management and Policy. He is currently working toward a data science certificate where he is learning to apply machine learning and predictive analytics techniques to solve business problems.

He began his Partners HealthCare career with Partners eCare as an Epic Applications Analyst under John Hauck, supporting the implementation of five Partner’s hospitals. Later, he transitioned from implementation to project management at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He wore many hats in this role, including those of system analyst, BI developer, data analyst and project manager for the Revenue Operations Department.

Of his decision to take on the new challenge of Senior Data Analyst, Doucet says, “For the past year, I had been running monthly denial meetings here at BWFH and it was then that I realized there was a real need for support in the data and analytics space and thought that I could bring my experience and skillset to help the hospital.”

He says he also looks forward to working within the community hospital setting. “One of the benefits of working in a community hospital is that it’s a smaller system which makes it easier to redesign and standardize work in place. I’m really looking forward to learning all of the different areas of the hospital and helping the leadership team implement data initiatives. I’m hoping it allows me to have my hands on more and to learn a lot more,” he says. “I can be a central resource as I am devoted entirely to BWFH.”

In addition to supporting the data analytics needs of BWFH, Doucet will also be the hospital’s liaison to the newly renamed Analytics, Planning, Strategy and Improvement Department (APSI). Formerly, the Analytics, Planning and Process Improvement Department, APSI is a centralized group that provides Brigham Health with the data, analysis, reporting, planning, project management and process improvement expertise that it needs to achieve its strategic priorities. Here at BWFH, he will report to Vice President of Finance, Analysis and Planning Jerry Hadley.

When he is not at work, Doucet enjoys spending weekends hiking with family in New Hampshire and traveling with his fiancé. “We don’t have kids yet, so we try to travel a lot,” he says.
