Sara Lourie

Sara Lourie, has been named Central Processing Department Manager, a role in which she has been serving as interim for several months.

Sara is a certified surgical technologist, a certified sterile processing technician and a certified instrument specialist with over a decade of experience in healthcare. At Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, she will oversee the day-to-day CPD staff and operations, as well as work on quality improvement initiatives, quality assurance and infection control.

During her time in the interim role, Sara has been getting to know her staff and their workflow. “It’s been exciting so far,” she says. “We have some phenomenal people who work here. As CPD Manager, I want to continue to build that team to be able to take us to the next level.”

Sara also hopes to bring attention to the unique function that her department plays within the hospital. “Doctors and nurses get a lot of credit for the wonderful care they provide, but they couldn’t do that without us giving them the tools they need,” she says. “They call CPD the heart of the hospital for a reason. We are the foundation of the quality care we provide here.”

Outside of work, Sara is mom to a teenage daughter. She jokes, “In my free time, I am a full-time chauffeur!”
