We remember. We honor. We thank. Over the weekend, we marked the 20th anniversary of 9/11, remembering all those who lost their lives on that day and everyone who suffered the loss of a loved one or friend. Knowing anniversaries of tragic events can be a time for renewed grief, Mass General Brigham has compiled resources and information that may be helpful. Click here to learn more.

For all Mass General Brigham employees and our loved ones, this month is a great opportunity to review the fundamentals of what is needed to be prepared for emergencies. Our theme for National Preparedness Month this year is Mass General Brigham: A Workforce at the Ready! Yom Kippur, the Jewish day of atonement, begins at sunset on Wednesday, September 15, and ends at nightfall on Thursday, September 16. Customs and observances vary among Jewish denominations and communities. During this time, many Jews fast from food and drink, and gather in the synagogue for high holiday prayers. It is customary to gather for a festive meal prior to and following the fast. Traditionally, Jews refrain from certain kinds of work on this holiday. The preservation of life takes precedence over the observance of the holiday, as do some activities required for maintaining the health and comfort of those who are ill. Gmar V’Chatima Tovah, and a meaningful fast, to all observing this holiday!
Prayer booklets for Yom Kippur will be available in the Chapel on the third floor, and Spiritual Care Services is available for consultation and support at ext. 4856. Please enter a Spiritual Care Consult in Epic if you are caring for a patient who would like spiritual support.
