Daisy Nurse Leader Award – Submit Nominations by August 15

The DAISY Nurse Leader Award annually recognizes the incredible work that nurse leaders do every day. At Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, nurse leaders include Nurse Directors, Nursing Supervisors, Nurse Educators and Program Managers in the Department of Nursing. To nominate a nurse leader who goes above and beyond and tell us how they impacted your life, please fill out a nomination form online. Nominations are due by Saturday, August 15.

Stepping Strong Innovator Awards

The Stepping Strong Center is now accepting applications for the 2020 Stepping Strong Innovator Awards.  The awards fund research and innovation to improve the prevention, treatment and care of traumatic injury and its associated recovery. We expect to provide several grants of up to $100,000 each in 2020, including a dedicated award for injury prevention.  You can learn more about the application process, the focus areas of the 2020 Innovator Awards, and the responsibilities of Award winners here or view the FAQs.  The deadline to apply is August 14, 2020.

New Mass General Brigham Website is Live

Last week the new Mass General Brigham website went live. The new, streamlined site is patient-focused and further demonstrates to patients and the community how we work as an integrated health care system.

The site is organized into four main categories geared toward patients: Who we Are, How we Lead, Find and Get Care and Patient Information.  The site has been optimized for mobile viewing and is built with accessibility in mind. The site also provides the ability to view some of the main patient-facing information in 10 different languages. To learn more visit www.massgeneralbrigham.org.

COVID-19 Updates

PPE Distribution Center – New Hours

Beginning Monday, July 6, the PPE distribution center has changed its hours of operation to be seven days a week from 6 am – 11:30 pm. Please be sure to pick up your PPE during these times. In the event that an N95 mask, face shield or goggles are needed outside of these times, please see your charge nurse. If a PAPR is required, please contact the Nursing Supervisor. Any questions or concerns please reach out to Jorge Villanueva, 617-983-7976.

First Floor Lobby

Our hospital ambassador program, made up of greeters and screeners, and the design of the first floor lobby will continue to evolve to support patients and families in adherence to state guidance.  Please remember that the first floor entrance should only be used by patients and visitors.

Employee Grant Program Extended

The deadline to submit applications for the Mass General Brigham COVID-19 Employee Grant Program has been extended to July 15. The COVID-19 Employee Grant Program was created to assist individuals employed by Mass General Brigham and its member institutions who have experienced financial hardship during the pandemic.

Grants are available to active, benefits-eligible employees who have completed at least 6 months of continuous service and earn less than $26.50 per hour.  More information and the application can be found on AskmyHR.
