New neurosurgeon to operate at BWFH

Tracy Ansay, MD

Tracy Ansay, MD, an attending surgeon with Brigham Health’s Department of Neurosurgery, recently began operating at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital.

Dr. Ansay is a graduate of the University of Arizona College of Medicine. She also completed a fellowship at the University of Cincinnati. She believes in a humanistic approach to medicine—that the patient deserves a certain level of excellence in care that is achieved by addressing patient needs on an individual basis with compassion and an understanding of the patient as a person. She has been motivated in her practice by personal experiences and wants to ensure her patients receive the same level of care she would expect for her own family. She has tirelessly tried to impart the lessons she learned as a family member of a patient, to attempt to improve humanism in patient care within her own practice.

Here at BWFH, Dr. Ansay will offer minimally invasive and open lumbar laminectomies, microdiscectomies, lumbar fusions, cervical laminectomies, anterior cervical discectomies and fusions, cervical disc replacements and posterior cervical fusions. “I am looking forward to establishing good relationships and workflow in the operating room at BWFH,” she says. “And I hope to play a role in growing the spine program in the future.”

When she is not at work, Dr. Ansay enjoys tennis, hiking and anything that can be done near the ocean.
