New attending surgeon to operate at BWFH

Lalita Haines, MD

Lalita Haines, MD, recently joined the Brigham Health Department of OB/GYN as an attending surgeon in the Brigham Obstetrics and Gynecology Group. At Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, she will perform general gynecology procedures including laparoscopy for pelvic pain and adnexal masses, as well as minor vaginal and uterine procedures such as hysteroscopy, hymenectomy and examination under anesthesia.

Dr. Haines studied French Language and Literature at Dartmouth College before attending medical school at Columbia University. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital.

In addition to being board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG), Dr. Haines also has an ABOG focused practice designation in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, seeing patients aged 15 years and older for gynecologic issues such as pelvic pain and abnormal bleeding. In fact, she comes to the Brigham Obstetrics and Gynecology Group from Boston Children’s Hospital where she worked in the Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology Division for 11 years.

In the OR here at BWFH, Dr. Haines says she looks forward to getting to know the team. “BWFH has an excellent reputation for providing skilled and compassionate care, and I’m happy to be able to be a part of that,” she says.

When she is not at work, Dr. Haines enjoys traveling, reading, teaching and practicing yoga and performing in local community theater. She is currently playing the Witch in a production of “Into The Woods.”
