Kenny Clancy, RN, BSN recently started at BWFH as a nurse on 6 North. Although he switched jobs in the middle of a pandemic, Clancy said he felt good about the move and his experience allowed him to transition easily. “I didn’t feel like I was just thrown into the mix since I’ve been a nurse for the past six years,” he said.

He came to BWFH from Boston Medical Center, where he worked with medical patients for three years. Before that he worked at Rhode Island Hospital on a rehab floor. Clancy says that he likes BWFH the best so far because of the facility and location- he lives nearby in Jamaica Plain and enjoys that he can walk or bike to work.

Clancy says he chose a nursing major mainly because of a friend’s advice before he started college and has had no regrets. “I’m super grateful I did,” he said. He received his BSN from Fitchburg State University and has been working as a registered nurse ever since. His favorite part of his job is patient contact, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. “I like interpersonal care,” he said. “In most other jobs people don’t even get to interact with people. I am fortunate that I am able to do that.”

In his spare time, Clancy enjoys going for hikes and practicing yoga.
