Hospital Ambassador receives I CARE Award

Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s I CARE Award recognizes staff members from all areas of the hospital who go above and beyond their regular job responsibilities to make BWFH a great place to work and receive care. Hospital Ambassador Gissel Pichardo was a recent recipient of an I CARE Award.

Pichardo was nominated for her I CARE Award by BWFH President David O. McCready, who wrote in his nomination letter:

Gissel is a bright star on the BWFH Ambassador team. For many months, including during the darkest days of the pandemic, I have observed Gissel providing unbelievably positive, helpful support and care to our patients and staff as an Ambassador at our 3rd floor entrance. She helps visitors gently and patiently and does whatever is necessary to meet their needs. Gissel represents the very best of this hospital. I often walk by her desk when she is working with lost or confused or angry patients, and I always smile when I overhear how skillfully and compassionately she handles them. I sincerely hope that Gissel is with BWFH for many years to come.

Do you know a BWFH employee who has gone above and beyond to demonstrate BWFH’s I CARE Standards? To nominate a fellow colleague for an I CARE Award, please visit BWFHconnect. A team of colleagues will personally recognize the employee by presenting them with balloons, a thank you card and a gift certificate redeemable in the cafeteria or Atrium Cafe.
