Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s I CARE Award recognizes staff members from all areas of the hospital who go above and beyond their regular job responsibilities to make BWFH a great place to work and receive care. Echocardiogram Technician Tue Ho and Lead Cardiac Sonographer Dylan Riggieri were recent recipients of I CARE Awards.

Ho and Riggieri were both nominated for their I CARE Awards by Operations Manager for Non-invasive Testing Matthew Chartier-Petrelis.

In Ho’s nomination letter, Chartier-Petrelis wrote:

Tue received a note from an inpatient, who insisted her nurse hand deliver the note to me. The note read: “To Tue Ho’s Supervisor in the Echo Dept. I would like you to know how much I appreciated Tue today. I was having some breathing problems. I had a very bad day yesterday, so when I started having trouble, I panicked and Tue was so very kind and patient with me, and we were able to work together to get the ultrasound completed. I am so grateful, and I want you to know how well he took care of this scared old lady.” Thank you, Tue for always putting our patients at ease while getting them the care they require!

In Riggieri’s nomination letter, Chartier-Petrelis wrote:

Dylan had an outpatient who became very agitated during her exam. She had arrived via The Ride and would have to wait about 1.5 hours to be picked up. The patient demanded to be fed and Dylan escorted her to the cafeteria and got her soup. The patient, who was legally blind, was upset that Dylan would have to go back to work and not be able to sit with her. Dylan made sure to escort the patient to a safe area where she could enjoy her meal while also being looked after while waiting her ride. Thank you, Dylan, for going above and beyond in a tough situation!

Do you know a BWFH employee who has gone above and beyond to demonstrate BWFH’s I CARE Standards? To nominate a fellow colleague for an I CARE Award, please visit BWFHconnect. A team of colleagues will personally recognize the employee by presenting them with balloons, a thank you card and a gift certificate redeemable in the cafeteria or Atrium Café.
