Dominici named Associate Chief of Surgery

Effective November 1, Laura Dominici, MD, FACS, will assume the new role of Associate Chief of Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital.

Dr. Dominici is a well-known member of the BWFH community, having served as Section Chief of Breast Surgery since 2016—a role in which she has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills as well as clinical excellence and in which she will remain.

Dr. Dominici received her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine. She then completed a general surgery residency at Lahey Clinic Medical Center (now Lahey Hospital and Medical Center) and a breast surgical oncology fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. She is board certified in general surgery. She is a surgeon at BWFH, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center, and an associate professor of surgery at Harvard Medical School.

In her new role, Dr. Dominici looks forward to collaborating with Chief of Surgery Douglas Smink, MD, MPH, and OR leadership in order to build on BWFH’s commitment to providing the highest-quality, safest care to our patients. “I am excited to be able to serve the Department of Surgery in this way and thrilled that this opportunity allows me to further build upon my strong relationships at BWFH,” she says.

Outside of work, you may find Dr. Dominici running, traveling with her family or watching her kids play in countless soccer and baseball games.
