Division Chief of Breast Surgery wins Clinical Faculty Award from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

Dr. Laura Dominici

The Office for Faculty Development at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is dedicated to helping to ensure that DFCI faculty members thrive, both scientifically and personally. Their goals include supporting career development of faculty, enhancing diversity of faculty and faculty leadership and ensuring a positive faculty work environment through such strategies as mentoring programs and work/life initiatives. One way they achieve these goals is by awarding Clinical Faculty Awards.

At the annual Clinical Faculty Brunch, held recently at the Museum of Science, Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s Division Chief of Breast Surgery and DFCI faculty member Dr. Laura Dominici was presented with the Bridging Boundaries Clinical Faculty Award. This award is given to a clinician in a subspecialty who is dedicated to oncology and particularly skilled in interacting with other disciplines.

For Dr. Dominici the award is a great honor. “I am so pleased to be recognized for providing true multidisciplinary care, which is so vital to the treatment of our breast cancer patients. The fact that my peers whom I respect so highly and work with every day nominated me for this award makes it that much more meaningful,” she says.
