Clinical Documentation Specialists named to leadership team for statewide committee

Kirsten Larrabee, BSN, RN, CCDS

Kirsten Larrabee, BSN, RN, CCDS, a Clinical Documentation Specialist at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, was recently named co-chair of the Massachusetts chapter of the Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists (ACDIS) whose mission it is to serve as the premier healthcare community for clinical documentation specialists, providing a medium for education, professional growth, program recognition and networking.

Larrabee is now one of four co-chairs for the Massachusetts chapter, which has over 140 members from hospitals around New England. In this role, she will help plan meetings and disseminate information to organization members.

“Being part of ACDIS is a great way to learn what’s new in terms of policies and procedures,” says Larrabee. “As a member of the leadership team for the Massachusetts chapter, I have the opportunity to shape how that information is shared with our members.”

Larrabee says her own practice has greatly benefited from her involvement in ACDIS. She hopes that as a co-chair she continues to hone her skills while also highlighting the great work being done here at BWFH. “It’s an opportunity to learn and share best practices,” she says.
