BWFH welcomes new Senior Human Resources Business Partner

Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital is pleased to welcome Avery Chang to the role of Senior Human Resources Business Partner.

Chang, a native of Taiwan, moved to Boston to attend Boston University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Administration/Management. She comes to BWFH from InterContinental Hotels & Resorts where she started as Human Resources Intern for InterContinental Boston and eventually rose to the ranks of Human Resources Manager.

“I really enjoyed the customer service aspect of the hospitality industry—meeting and connecting with different people and being able to help them,” she says. “In Human Resources, I can do that on a much wider and deeper level with our employees. I love getting to know our employees and being there for them.”

And that’s just what she will do in her new role as Senior Human Resources Business Partner. Reporting directly to Executive Director of Human Resources Laura Barnett, Chang will serve as an advisor to departments within the hospital and provide strategic support and Human Resources services in the areas of employee and labor relations, benefits administration, training and compensation analysis.

“I’m very excited for this opportunity,” she says. “Hospitality and healthcare are actually very similar industries. We’re providing a service to people, and I am honored to be able to provide support to the employees who do this important work.”

Outside of work, Chang’s time is occupied by her pandemic puppy. “We do a lot of outdoor activities with her. She loves going on hikes and going to the beach,” she says.
