Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital recently welcomed Alexandra Penzias, DNP, MEd, APRN, ACNS-BC, CEN, to the role of Nurse Director for Procedural and Ambulatory Services. In this role, she will plan, organize, implement and be responsible for clinical activities and program development in Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology/Interventional Nephrology, the Outpatient Infusion Center (OPIC), the Pain Management Center and Cardiac Rehabilitation.
Penzias comes to BWFH from Cooley Dickinson Hospital where she served as the Director of Nursing Professional Practice Education, Director of the Gorth Simulation Lab and Coordinator for the AHA Training Center since 2018. Prior to that, she served as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Radiology Department at Massachusetts General Hospital, a Clinical Nurse Educator for the Emergency Department at Tufts New England Medical Center and a Clinical Nurse Educator and Critical Care Staff Nurse at institutions around the world.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Curry College, a Master of Education from Cambridge College and a Master of Science in Nursing and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Regis College; and has served as an editor and has presented and published widely on a number of topics including the impact of nursing presence, team learning, communication and development and holds multiple certifications.

As a healthcare professional, I look forward to my new role at BWFH as it will allow me to work across the Mass General Brigham system to share best practices and enhance care,” she says. “I also hope to utilize my clinical, professional, practice education and team-building experience to create high performance teams here at BWFH.”
Another perk to her new role is location. “I am glad to be back in eastern New England, which for many reasons, feels like home,” says Penzias who describes herself outside of work as a writer, foodie, skier and surfer.
