BWFH welcomes new Director of Behavioral Health Services

Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital recently welcomed Andrew Hennessy, MBA, to the role of Director of Behavioral Health Services. In this role, he will provide administrative leadership and support to the Department of Psychiatry, reporting directly to Vice President of Clinical Services Susan Dempsey and working closely with Chief of Psychiatry John Fromson, MD.

Hennessy comes to BWFH from Lahey Hospital and Medical Center where he most recently served as the Manager of Patient Access and Revenue Cycle for the Emergency Department and Financial Counseling. Prior to that, he held several roles at Boston Children’s Hospital in the Emergency Department and Department of Surgery. He holds a bachelor of science degree in Health Management and Policy from the University of New Hampshire and an MBA from Boston College Carroll School of Management.

He says the opportunity for professional growth in the hospital setting drew him to his new role. “While working in the Emergency Departments at Boston Children’s Hospital and most recently at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center, I came to appreciate the capacity challenges with behavioral health patients,” Hennessy says. “My goal in this role is to work collaboratively across all disciplines to best support our patients and caregivers.”

When he is not at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 7-month-old. He also enjoys outdoor activities such as golf, fishing and hiking.
