Associate Hospital Epidemiologist receives I CARE Award

Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s I CARE Award recognizes staff members from all areas of the hospital who go above and beyond their regular job responsibilities to make BWFH a great place to work and receive care. Associate Hospital Epidemiologist Roger Clark, DO, was a recent recipient of an I CARE Award in recognition of his concern for our employee’s wellbeing and safety.

Dr. Clark was nominated for his I CARE Award by ICU, Dialysis and Respiratory Nurse Director Estier Sayegh, MBA, BSN, RN, CNRN, PCCN, CCRN. In her nomination letter, she wrote:

Dr. Clark went above and beyond and exceeded his actions to infection control concern when he found out about mold in the ICU locker room. Around 8 pm I heard about a mold in the ICU and alerted Facilities on that evening, but Dr. Clark came in at 6 am the next morning, went to the ICU and cleaned the mold himself. He got specialty cleaning wipes and washed the wall from the mold. This is far beyond how he is required to respond to such a concern for infection control. Dr. Clark is very well known for his positive attitude, collaboration, great skills, critical thinking and medical management, and is a true example of collaboration. Nothing is beneath him regardless of his job description or title. He is known for his concern for all employee’s wellbeing and safety. There are no words that can describe Dr. Clark’s caring attitude and commitment to his profession, staff and the organization. We are very thankful to work with him and very lucky to have him with us at BWFH. It is my honor and pleasure to have Dr. Clark on our team.

Do you know a BWFH employee who has gone above and beyond to demonstrate BWFH’s I CARE Standards? To nominate a fellow colleague for an I CARE Award, please visit BWFHconnect. A team of colleagues will personally recognize the employee by presenting them with balloons, a thank you card and a gift certificate redeemable in the cafeteria or Atrium Café.
