Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Breast Center is pleased to welcome Anna Weiss, MD. Dr. Weiss sees patients in clinic in the Breast Center and performs breast surgery (excisional biopsy for benign disease entities, lumpectomy, mastectomy, sentinel node biopsy and axillary node dissections for breast cancer) in the OR at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital.
Dr. Weiss is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland. She completed a residency in General Surgery at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine and a fellowship in Breast Surgical Oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. She is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Her clinical interests include the surgical treatment of breast cancer, axillary surgery and inflammatory breast cancer. Her clinical research is focused on surgical management of the axilla, inflammatory breast cancer, large population database research and the application and integration of collaborative clinical trial results with real world data.
Here at BWFH, Dr. Weiss is looking forward to working closely with her breast cancer surgeon colleagues. “I think I have the absolute best colleagues and mentors here at Brigham Women’s Faulkner Hospital, including Chief Medical Officer Dr. Peggy Duggan, Dr. Faina Nakhlis and Division Chief of Breast Surgery Dr. Laura Dominici. They are brilliant, supportive and just plain fun to be around! The Breast Center staff, social worker Eileen Joyce and nurse practitioner Olivia Donnelly are treasures too. Really I couldn’t ask for more!” she says.
When she is not at work, Dr. Weiss enjoys playing with her dog Maddie, spending time with family and friends and hiking. She says she can’t wait for spring to get to know the northeast outdoors a little more!
