Nutrition Clinic welcomes new Outpatient Dietitian

Laura Kusy, MS, RDN, LDN, recently joined the team in the Nutrition Clinic at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital as Outpatient Dietitian. Kusy has nearly 20 years of experience providing personalized weight management counseling to individuals and businesses through worksite wellness programs. She also provides evidence-based medical nutrition therapy for a variety of medical conditions including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE) and hypertension.

Kusy studied Nutrition as an undergraduate at UMass Amherst and earned a Master of Science in Nutrition with a concentration in Sports Nutrition from Northeastern University. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Here at BWFH, Kusy will see patients with a variety of conditions including obesity, GI issues, food allergies, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. She will also work with patients on weight maintenance and meal planning including vegan and vegetarian diets. “I want my clients to discover what inspires them,” she says.

It’s that personal touch that Kusy finds most rewarding. “I enjoy working with individuals—getting to know them and providing them with customized plans to reach their health and wellness goals,” she says. “The road to improved health can be a long one. As an Outpatient Dietitian, I feel fortunate to develop long-term relationships with my patients while offering them support and guidance along the way.”

When she is not at work or cooking healthy and delicious recipes, Kusy keeps busy playing tennis, skiing and trying to keep tabs on her two teenage boys.
