I CARE Recipient Helps Long-Term Patient

Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s I CARE Award recognizes staff members who go above and beyond their regular job responsibilities to make BWFH a great place to work and receive care. Six South’s PCA and Unit Secretary Diane Norris was a recent recipient of an I CARE Award.

Norris was nominated for her I CARE Award by Jacqueline Slattery, BSN, RN, MEDSURG-BC, who wrote in her nomination letter:

In early May, Diane was working as a secretary on our unit. She found out that one of our patients who had been here for almost a year was leaving. Without hesitation or being asked she went in the patient’s room and packed all her belongings—which ended up being 10 bags! This is only one example, but every day Diane comes in no matter what roll she is working and does extra things for her co-workers and patients.

Do you know a BWFH employee who has gone above and beyond to demonstrate BWFH’s I CARE Standards? To nominate a fellow colleague for an I CARE Award, please visit Vitals. A team of colleagues will personally recognize the employee by presenting them with balloons, a thank you card and a gift certificate redeemable in the cafeteria or Atrium Cafe.
