Hospitalist Receives 2021 Department of Medicine Award for Exemplary Service

Christopher Roy, MD, who serves as Medical Director for Brigham and Women’s Hospital’s Hospitalist Service and as a Hospitalist at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, has been named the recipient of BWH’s 2021 Department of Medicine Award for Exemplary Service.

The Department of Medicine’s Award for Exemplary Service was established to recognize the efforts of individuals who distinguish themselves by consistently exemplifying an extraordinary dedication to the department, their colleagues and/or the community. The award is intended to support the awardees’ participation in individualized career coaching sessions with an executive coach. These sessions will be focused on building leadership and strategic planning skills.

Dr. Roy was chosen by a selection committee appointed and chaired by the Department of Medicine’s Vice Chair of Faculty Development. He now has the opportunity to participate in a one-on-one career coaching program.

Of the honor, Dr. Roy says, “I was truly honored and grateful to receive this award. While it is always nice to receive individual recognition, I mostly feel extremely proud of our amazing team of physicians, APPs and administrative staff in Hospital Medicine, all of whom were central to and made enormous sacrifices for our COVID-19 response at BWH and BWFH.”
