BWFH Welcomes New Performance Improvement Manager

Matthew Kopp recently joined Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital as Performance Improvement Manager. In this role, he will work directly with senior leadership to support BWFH’s strategic goals through facilitation of major projects and the use of performance improvement methodologies.

Kopp studied Industrial and Systems Engineering as an undergraduate at Binghamton University before earning his Executive Masters in Industrial Engineering with a focus on Health Systems also from Binghamton University. He comes to BWFH from AdventHealth in Florida where he served as Performance Improvement Specialist. He has past experience in the community hospital and behavioral health settings having worked for both UNC Health in North Carolina and Sheppard Pratt Health System in Maryland.

In fact, it’s the community hospital setting that drew Kopp to his new role at BWFH. “It’s a good fit for my personality,” he says. “In a large system, you feel like you are trying to move ships. In the community hospital setting, you need to move boats. It feels a lot more agile.”

Outside of work, Kopp describes himself as a very active person. “I love playing sports, going to sporting events and going out and meeting people,” he says. “I also love anything outdoors, particularly hiking.”
