BWFH President participates in Breakfast with Healthcare Champions Series

ACHE of Massachusetts is a professional association providing executive-level managers of healthcare institutions with opportunities for professional collegiality and continuing education. ACHE of Massachusetts is an independent chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives. As part of their Breakfast with Healthcare Champions Series, Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital President Michael Gustafson, MD, MBA, recently presented “Evolution of the Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital Integration Strategy.”

The event, held in Huvos Auditorium at BWFH, was open to both ACHE of Massachusetts members and non-members. During his talk, Dr. Gustafson, described his efforts to accelerate the integration between BWFH (a community teaching hospital) and Brigham and Women’s Hospital (an academic medical center) over the last 6 years. His focus was on his work helping to drive realization of Brigham Health’s “right care, in the right place, at the right time and at the right price” strategy.

BWFH’s Administrative Director of Surgical and Procedural Services and ACHE of Massachusetts member Jeffrey Blackwell serves as the co-chair for the Breakfast with Healthcare Champions Series. “The ACHE of Massachusetts’ Breakfast with Healthcare Champions Series is designed to highlight successful healthcare executives and their organizations. Specifically, it’s an opportunity to learn the strategy and skills necessary to be successful in today’s dynamic environment. Given the success of BWFH under the direction of Dr. Gustafson’s leadership, it only made sense to have him as a presenter,” says Blackwell.
