6 North PCA receives I CARE Award

Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s I CARE Award recognizes staff members from all areas of the hospital who go above and beyond their regular job responsibilities to make BWFH a great place to work and receive care. 6 North PCA Ideline Mossanto was a recent recipient of an I CARE Award.

Mossanto was nominated for her I CARE Award by 6 North Nurse Director Suzelle Saint-Eloi, MS, RN. In her nomination letter, Saint-Eloi wrote:

Ideline touches the soul and hearts of many of our patients. From the moment she walks onto the unit, she greets patients, asking how they are doing and lets them know she will come back to check on them—this is all before she gets her assignment and starts her shift! She is always laughing and encouraging her patients, and even through the mask, you can see and feel her smile. She consistently extends herself to ensure the needs of all patients are met. Recently, a family member was visiting with a patient. The family member came out to share how much she appreciated how Ideline engaged with the patient, offering support and making the patient smile. The family member was moved to tears as she was so appreciative of how Ideline extended herself and made a difference for a patient who was confused and isolated in a precaution room. It was evident that it was an emotional and humbling experience for the patient’s family and Ideline. For that, we extend a special thank you to Ideline for exemplifying the I CARE Standards and being a great role model for staff.

Do you know a BWFH employee who has gone above and beyond to demonstrate BWFH’s I CARE Standards? To nominate a fellow colleague for an I CARE Award, please visit BWFHconnect. A team of colleagues will personally recognize the employee by presenting them with balloons, a thank you card and a gift certificate redeemable in the cafeteria or Atrium Café.
