Laboratories

The laboratory at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital provides a wide range of services to all hospital inpatients and many outpatients. The staff in the laboratory produces nearly 5,000 results per day. For those 5,000 results, that’s nearly 1,000 patients to keep track of.

To ensure the patient is identified correctly all the way through the process, the laboratory team has developed techniques to make sure samples are identified properly, including bar coding technology. In some cases, laboratory staff oversee point of care testing with results delivered directly to the electronic medical record.

Outpatient Laboratory Hours

Our Outpatient Laboratory is open Monday through Friday from 7 am to 5:30 pm (no weekends). Holiday hours may vary, so please contact the lab at 617-983-7336 or 617-983-7111 to confirm before coming in.
