As part of Brigham and Women's, our Emergency Department is integrated with Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Since many of our physicians and physician assistants work at both sites, we are able to provide innovative and expert emergency care to you in your community. For those patients requiring specialized care not available at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, such as cardiac catheterization or advanced trauma care, we can provide seamless access to Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Radiology Services
Diagnostic x-ray, CT scan and ultrasound services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and MRI is available for most of the day, seven days a week. Our physicians will collaborate with our team of emergency radiologists to diagnose your condition and provide timely and effective treatment.
Stroke Services
Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital is a Primary Stroke Center. Our multidisciplinary team can provide emergency diagnostic and therapeutic services 24 hours a day, seven days a week to patients presenting with symptoms of acute stroke. Time is of the essence in an acute stroke, and we have a comprehensive plan designed to expedite assessment, diagnostic testing and treatment of acute stroke patients in the Emergency Department.
Pediatric Care
Our physicians are all board certified in emergency medicine, which means they are trained to care for patients of all ages, including children. If your child needs emergency care, you can rest assured they will receive outstanding care in our Emergency Department. For those children who require hospital admission or advanced pediatric services, we provide seamless access to one of the area’s dedicated pediatric hospitals.
Home Hospital
We believe that patients should have access to top clinical treatment at the right place and the right time—including at home. Through Mass General Brigham Home Hospital, eligible patients receive expert hospital-level care from trusted providers in the comfort of their own home. If you and your doctor decide Home Hospital is the right choice for you, you’ll return home from the Emergency Department where a member of your provider team will meet you to set you up with everything you need for a successful care experience.

Electronic Health Records
Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital uses eCare (EPIC software) as our unified electronic medical record throughout the system. This will also soon be expanded to all Mass General Brigham institutions. This new system allows for easier tracking of patient flow and results for emergency patients in real time, and also allows for easier flow of information between the Emergency Department, inpatient units and your Mass General Brigham-affiliated outpatient providers.
